BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction
We aim to take students to trade outlets and visit different types of buildings so the students can get a feel for the construction industry first hand. We also get involved in a number of community projects and tasks around the centre so the students can get some real life construction work experience.
Recently, students have been involved in renovating a building on the site and have developed this into a working classroom. They have also taken part in the recent works to develop Monarch Lakes and Tackle and have learned skills such as fencing, using a water pump and using a mini-digger.
The students will cover a range of different aspects including brickwork, carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating, health and safety and general maintenance.
