A new leisure business has opened next-door to the training centre comprising of two fishing lakes and a tackle shop. As this business expands, students will be offered opportunities to take part in work experience in areas such as grounds maintenance, fish husbandry, customer service and catering and hospitality.
There are also opportunities for the students to access the facilities at Monarch Lakes and learn angling skills, how to protect wildlife and the natural environment as a reward, for behaviour and attendance for example. Fishing can be very calming and is a positive activity that young people can continue in their own time.
